Plagiarism Prevention Policy

The purpose of this policy is to establish a framework (consisting of a policy and guideline documents) for deterring, detecting and dealing with plagiarism consistently across all faculties of the University of Pretoria.

Plagiarism is considered to be academic dishonesty and is viewed in a very serious light. Use a reference management software tool to cite other author's work.

Referencing is a standardised method of formatting the information sources you have used in your assignment or written work. Any given referencing style serves two purposes: acknowledges the source and allows the reader to trace the source. You must always cite references you have used to avoid plagiarism.
