Guide for Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD's)
Welcome to the Department of Library Services (DLS) Electronic Thesis/Dissertation Submission Guide. The DLS is committed to provide open access to the University of Pretoria's scholarly outputs by producing simple guidelines for self-submissions.
All Masters and Doctoral students are required to submit their thesis/dissertations to the Institutional Repository, UPSpace, as a graduation requirement. The Institutional Repository Administrator will review all submissions to ensure they adhere to UP's thesis/dissertation guidelines.
This guide will walk you through the process of submitting your thesis/dissertation to the Library's UPSpace. Follow the steps 1-4 and navigate using the blue tabs.
Digital Commons Network Open Access--Powered by Scholars--Published by Universities
The Digital Commons Network brings together free, full-text scholarly articles from hundreds of universities and colleges worldwide. Curated by university librarians and their supporting institutions, the Network includes a growing collection of peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, dissertations, working papers, conference proceedings, and other original scholarly work.
eBooks can be accessed electronically from the library website or catalog. Make sure you have signed in on the library catalog with your UP credentials to avoid exclusion. Please contact me to assist you whenever you are struggling, marriette.mapheto@up.ac.za
Databases are digital libraries of academic journals, books, articles, and other resources. In a database you will be able to search for journals, articles, books, reference sources, videos, and many other resources the UP Library is subscribed to and those which are available open access
