The Journal focuses on research that considers discourse and interaction in settings where activity is deliberately organised to promote learning. While most papers focus on the discourse of classrooms, others report research in more informal, naturalistic settings in which, while learning is certainly still taking place, it is not occurring in the typical and ‘traditional’ space of a classroom. Examples might include online tutorials, peer-peer interactions of work-in-progress, and dialogues between ‘trainer and trainee’ in a workplace context.

Postcolonial Studies [Taylor and Francis] (... is the first international journal dedicated to exploring the colonial encounter and the variety of ways in which colonial relations and processes shaped and continue to shape the global world order. In the context of world history, the colonial encounter was a violent event whose legacies thread through to the present. Colonialism structures relationships between peoples in a multitude of ways. It gives rise to distinct bodies of literature and art, as well as political subjectivities and brutal economic inequalities. Colonial relationships and broader processes of coloniality are investigated from a range of cross-disciplinary perspectives. Postcolonial theory offers distinct critical perspectives on diverse circumstances historically and in the present. Postcolonial Studies is a leading forum for timely interventions and searching debates that traverse, but are not limited to, settler colonialism and indigenous-settler relations, nationalism, citizenship, statelessness, political violence, gender and sexuality, displacement and migration, climate justice and environmental ethics, human/non-human relations, decolonising movements, aesthetics, and poetics of colonial engagement. Research
Accountability in Research [Taylor & Francis] (is devoted to the examination and critical analysis of practices and systems for promoting integrity in the conduct of research. It provides an interdisciplinary, international forum for the development of ethics, procedures, standards, policies, and concepts to encourage the ethical conduct of research and to enhance the validity of research results. The journal welcomes original work on advancing research integrity in the form of empirical research, conceptual assessment, and critical analysis in all fields of science, including biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, law, economics, statistics, management studies, public policy, politics, sociology, history, psychology, philosophy, ethics, and information science. The journal seeks to publish research that makes a significant contribution to the literature and advances knowledge of accountability and integrity in research. With some exceptions, the journal is not interested in publishing studies that merely duplicate previous work or are limited in generalizability (e.g., due to problems with statistical design or research focus) or that do not meaningfully contribute to the scholarly literature.)
Action Learning: Research and Practice [Taylor & Francis] (... will publish articles which advance knowledge and assist the development of practice through the processes of action learning. Articles should aim to create theory, grounded in empirical observation of data and experience, that widens understanding of action learning and research in professional and organisational settings. Papers should encourage practitioners to gain new insights into their work and help them improve their effectiveness and contribution to their clients and the wider community. This journal is grounded in the approach pioneered by Reg Revans which holds that there can be no learning without action and no knowing without the effort to practise and implement what is claimed as knowledge. Because action learning promotes the creative integration of thinking & doing, theory & practice, academic & practitioner, contributors are asked to strive to hold these often diverse perspectives together. An important question in assessing papers will be: “Is this likely to help people in the further development of their practice in working with people, organisations and communities?”
