Interlending is a service that can be used to obtain books and articles that are not available at the home library from national and international libraries.

This service is available to Masters and Doctorate students, UP staff as well as other libraries which qualify. If the item you need to get hold of is not in our library catalogue; electronic journals A-Z list; Google or Google Scholar, you can request the item from another South African or international library.

"Step-by-Step" procedure for more information. 

Step 1: Go to http://www.library.up.ac.za/

Step 2: In the search bar, type the name of the book or its subject, related fields, or author

Step 3: Once results are shown, filter them in the left-hand column by clicking the appropriate boxes

Step 4: If you cannot find the book try an "advanced search" (the link is on the top right side of the page)

Step 5: Locate the book on the shelf

Step 6: If you cannot find the book, consult your friendly Information Specialist
