Construction Economics: Referencing

Subject Guide

Introduction

Please note:

In academic writing, it is essential to give credit to the ideas and words of other authors by properly citing and referencing your sources. Citing involves directly quoting or mentioning the work and ideas of others within your text, while referencing provides a detailed list of all the sources you’ve cited, allowing readers to locate the original materials. Not properly acknowledging your sources is considered as plagiarism!!!!!

Before choosing a reference style, please consult with your lecturer on which style and variation thereof should be used.

Referencing is an act of acknowledging the previously consulted sources in the body of your work (citation or in-text referencing) and providing the full bibliographic information in the Bibliography or Reference list
