The copyright in a work generally belongs to its author or creator. However, if the work is produced during the course of employment, the copyright is typically owned by the employer, unless the company’s intellectual property policy specifies otherwise.
That said, the creator may commission a work, share copyright through joint authorship, or transfer ownership—either wholly or in part—to a publisher or another party. Such a transfer must be done in writing and may be permanent or limited to a specific purpose or time period.
The Intellectual Property Compliance Regulation policy sets out the rules and responsibilities for protecting, using, and managing intellectual property rights to ensure legal compliance and safeguard ownership.
